Disney RP Beach Collab ~ Oswald and Mickey

Here's my part of the summer collab at


I decided to do something different and have them both wear swimsuits from their era in the 1920s/1930s. The story here is that Oswald and Mickey each bought hotdogs at the beach, but Oswald decided to grab Mickey's hotdog and use his ears to glide out of his reach, however Mickey is very persistent about getting it back. Oswald doesn't intend to eat it though, he's merely enjoying teasing his brother.

Man, this took forever for me to get done. Started the sketch of Oswald a month ago and it sat there for weeks before I finally got back to it and edited it and added Mickey. I tried to angle Mickey's head so that you could see his annoyed face but it was looking really weird so I just made it into a back view pose. Mickey's pose was SO HARD to get right. I couldn't find any good references for it except for a single climbing pose which very helpful for the angle and shape of the torso. I wanted it to have a dangling quality and feeling of movement to it, and I'm pleased how it finally turned out.
